I don’t have to agree with you to like you or respect you. — Anthony Bourdain

    The Change-Up (2011)

When I first saw the preview for this movie, I thought it would be like another body switch movie, like the Hot Chick or Freaky Friday, so I did  not give it a chance.  But I think Jason Bateman is a funny guy and Ryan Reynolds general doesn’t disappoint to badly, and thus gave it a chance.  I would watch this movie a couple times purely because there are lines in this movie that had me in stitches.  I am pretty sure a tear came out of my eye because I was laughing so hard.  Leslie Mann and Olivia Wilde bare all in this one too which didn’t hurt keeping my attention.  Go see this movie, as a guy, this is going to be up there with knocked up and the other Dobkin movies (Wedding Crashers).

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (2009)

They expectations of this move were really high.  The book by Tucker Maxx was very well done.  The movie did not do the book justice at all.  I mean it would be really hard to portray most of the stories and still have an R rating, but it was not well acted and was lackluster at best.  Was it worth the time it took to watch it, yes, only because the book was so good, the movie had to be seen.  If I saw it on one of the premium channels, I might watch it if nothing else interests me.  It’s a shame that it turned out this way.

    Middle Men (2010)

First of all this movie is not about the porn industry, so much as it is about how the porn industry makes money.  The cast was pretty good for a film that did not generate the revenue it deserved.  Luke Wilson, James Caan, and Giovanni Ribisi are a few of the cast members of this highly underrated film.  It has everything from action to thrill and a little nudity, but come on, how do you make a film about internet pornography without it.  It may appear to be a raunchy flick, but it isn’t at all.  The idea may be taboo and that is why Hollywood may have shunned it, but it is worth watching.  I was engaged throughout the entire movie and didn’t feel that there was filler space, even if there was some scenes that were slow.  Take off the porno is a bad topic so I will disregard the topic hat and watch the damn movie.  You will be pleasantly surprised by the result.
