I don’t have to agree with you to like you or respect you. — Anthony Bourdain

    Arthur (2011)

In this remake of the 1981 classic comedy, Russell Brand somehow finds a way to make his character not funny and not all that likable.  It was a pain to watch the nearly 2 hours of this awful movie.  Some movie were good as they were and are not meant to be modernized.  Jennifer Garner is beautiful, but lets face it, she is not a comedian and it clearly shows that she was out of place in this film.  If I were you, take my advice and avoid watching this at all costs.  I will not get those precious hours back in my life, the least I could do is warn you in the minute it took you to read this.  At no point should this have been made, let alone be watched.

    Brothers (2009)

Initially I did not want or have the desire to see this film, but after finding nothing to watch, I settled in and decided to view this motion picture.  Holy crap was this one cluster f**k of a movie.  The indespicable and quite disturbing acts that were committed are mind altering.  Anything with Natalie Portman is worth watching, one because she is gorgeous, but also she is a good actress.  Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire play brothers and it is pulled off well.  Overall it was a well done movie, but the content is frightening, especially if you have a brother.  It is a good movie to watch when you get into the mood for a complex movie that will rack your brain with unthinkable situations.  Once you see it, it will leave an impression in your mind for years to come.

    Larry Crowne (2011)

I think that Tom Hanks is a great actor and it kills me that he wrote this one.  It is about as average and predictable as it can get.  Some parts don’t exactly line up and it is just a mess of a movie.  I am sorry Tom, but you may win the wrong kind of award for this film.  Julia Roberts is nothing special in this one either.  There is very little humor and the comedians in the movie are limited in their roles.  If it had not been for a really boring day at see on a cruise, I don’t think I would have ever seen this one.  I don’t even know how long it was even in the movie theater.  Last resort movie in my opinion.
