A 23-year-old intoxicated man crashed an all-terrain vehicle in Tobyhanna early Friday and then broke into someone’s home to sleep it off, Pocono Mountain Regional police said.

A resident at the home in the 7100 block of Seneca Way woke up at around 8 a.m. to find Stephen Patrick O’Kane on the sofa, bleeding from his head and arm, police said. The resident told police that O’Kane had crashed outside.

O’Kane said he was from Londonberry, Ireland, and was visiting friends in the area. When police asked him what happened, they detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

He was taken to Pocono Medical Center and was treated for his injuries.

O’Kane was charged with criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, drunken driving and careless driving. He was sent to Monroe County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.

Opinion:  My question is, if he broke into the house, how did the owners not here him come in?  No alarm?  Time to get one.  Mr. O’Kane, you are an IDIOT!
